Each of the 20 individually styled rooms and suites are relaxed and elegant. The dark grey metal and glass windows allow for sweeping views across the valley. Under the original pitched Cape farmhouse roofline, a series of sumptuous common areas boast high ceilings clad in tongue-and-groove timber and wood-burning fireplaces with custom fireplace surrounds. The smoked, solid oak timber floor offsets the handmade rugs from Tibet. The bespoke furniture in materials such as shagreen, vellum, bronze and exotic wood finishes adds texture and interest. The colour palette of chocolate, taupe, smokey blues and greys creates a sense of luxurious calm enhanced by soft lighting emanating from the hand-forged chandeliers and a pair of mid-century Lucite table lamps. Contemporary art and objects hand-picked from the owner’s personal collection contribute to the eclectic styling that runs throughout the house.
